Glorious Céiron commanders and commander candidates (of course, there may be people reading this who may not have started playing our game yet, however, everyone will start sooner or later!),

We have developed a fun and competitive, also diverse and stunning game for you. It took long, we are aware of this. We made mistakes that added to this delay too, no doubt; however, there also have been misfortunes outside our control. After all we have been through, even though a bit late, I can say that we are happy about being able to bring the game into this condition (if I can say this despite all the delay, you can only guess the amount of setbacks we had to go through).

It Is Beautiful…

We are saying that we have delayed, but even we sometimes forget the metric tons of work we had to do. You may be seeing only 10 percent of the said work, however, we have performed a huge clean up in the infrastructure. Calling this process a clean-up is accurate, for us being jackasses is what messed it up to begin with. Especially, porting the game to the browser platform has been a serious workload.

See how easy it is to say: The game now runs on browsers…

Typing this sentence took around 1,5 seconds (I type quite fast, thanks to my finger muscles the size of my head).

The work that allowed me to type that sentence probably took more than 6 months, though.

If you are thinking that I am trying to relieve your anger about all this delay by writing all this… Well, you are thinking right. Even I wouldn’t buy these. In the end, you are the players; why should you care about our infrastructure problems, right? You would only be concerned about the things you are interested in. From that point of view, we would have to agree that we have been very slow, which we already do. You can now stop bashing on us on the forums We hear you.

About those things “you are interested in”, we have been working especially hard during the last month. Looking at the game now, it is beautiful… Yep, it’s good. There is still work to do of course, but that’s another thing.

But When Will These Updates Come?

Now with a deft ankle flick I pass through the defense line and transform the question into something I am more comfortable with. Actually it is me who is asking the question to begin with, but yeah.

What are these updates?

We have already posted a list on our official forums. This list is more or less up to date with a few changes. To sum it up; first we will solve the problems the game is having at explaining itself. We will fix the parts that confuse the new players. We also are going through some interface revisions

User interface changes are more important what they sound like at first. They will improve the quality of life and render the game more “playable”, not only for new players, but also our veterans. This shouldn’t be regarded as a purely aesthetic change; there actually will be serious functional differences.

The army panel (unit training, unit upgrades and army management screen), the screen where we see our base (main screen) and the battle interface are the ones that are on the top of our priority list.

As I said, we have posted the full list on our forums. I have only written the changes we have completed as of now.

OK I Get It, But When Are These Updates Coming? Do You Hear Me? Hello?

Yes, it was obvious that it would come to this part eventually. As all other game developers, giving an exact date is hard for us. Why? Because we are getting new ideas while working on things, designs change, wishes and priorities change… So, it has nothing to do with not being able to finish or anything. Not at all, nope.

At least I can give an approximate date, though. We are planning to finish the work list we have posted on the forums until the end of May, reset the game and reopen the servers. Also, we will finish the interface works I have mentioned as much as we can. I have already said which interface revisions had priority.

However, keep in mind that end of May is an approximate date. Since it is approximate it is not to be trusted, it can be approximated more at any moment…

Let’s Have Some Visuals

Galljan Empire – Priestess: The Priestesses will be replacing the Cult Priests who are currently in game. With their “persuasive” tactics they will be able to rally wounded troops who have to retreat from the battlefield. However, due to the nature of their heals being temporary, the troops will be removed from the player’s army after the battle ends. Although it will be difficult to harm the Priestesses with ranged attacks, they will need protection against melee to make up for their ineffectiveness in close quarters.

Galljan Empire – Streltsy Sniper: Streltsy is one of the new units to be added to the game. They will have access to a firepower that completely ignores range and when they aim to the head they will be able to bypass all defenses of their targets.

Streltsy Sniper Face Change: Due to the facemask on Streltsy Sniper making it difficult to recognize its gender in the early concepts, we have made some changes on the face of the model version.

Pyroñom Shardom – Dúrkæn Assassin: The Assassin unit will be replacing the Turquoise Scorpion unit which is currently in game. Being a tactical unit, the assassin will focus on disabling its opponents instead of facing them in direct combat. It can be used to lock down the most dangerous unit of the enemy; however, the players will need to exercise caution while using the assassin; for although the Dúrkæn Assassin is normally invisible on the battlefield, it will turn visible as soon as it disables an enemy unit.

Pyroñom Shardom – Golden Angel: This unit is one of the new units to be added to the game. The Golden Angels are esnaï who are at the initiate rank within the Crimson Angels organization and sent to serve under Pyrokan generals to finish their trainings. With their beauty and their sacred place within the Pyrokan culture, they increase the attack power of the units in the armies they join to assist. Although it is very difficult to harm the Golden Angels with ranged attacks, they require protection in close quarters due to their ineffectiveness in melee combat. Also, Golden Angels cannot be killed; they simply abandon the battlefield and the army when they are seriously wounded.

Note: You can check the change list posted on the forums to learn at which stage these units will be added to the game.

About the Second Part of the Work List

I will make a post about the second part of the work list next week. However, I must say that it is impossible to give a release date for the second part at this point. Still, I will be sharing new information and developments regarding this topic.

You will be hearing from us more often from now on. Take care, folks!

May 31, 2011 – Update Notes

New Features / Modules
* The in game announcement panel has been activated. Now it will be possible to notify you of important announcements the moment you log in to the game.
* The Céi-Lira panel has been implemented. With this panel, our players will receive more detailed information about Céi-Lira and the current promotions.
* New battlegrounds for the Crimson Angels and Power Prodigies (for both states) guilds have been added to the game.

Fixes / Changes
* The background visuals of the login screen have been updated.

- Gameplay / Technical -

* IMPORTANT – In Arena (PvP) battles, the issue that caused the game to get stuck at the last second of the turn in the case of an opponent player losing connection with the server has been fixed. From now on, if the opponent player loses connection with the server, the server first will wait till the duration of the turn ends. After the turn ends, the server will notify the other player about the issue and wait for the disconnected player for 1 – 1,5 minutes. After the time expires, if the disconnected player still is not back, the server will automatically assume the disconnected player to have lost the battle and the battle will be finalized.

* After lost main quest and enemy commander hunt battles, you are now notified through an in game notification pop up that your units have been returned to you.
* Thee error in the order of resources on the main resource panel has been fixed. (The order has been updated according to the standard order)
* Some performance upgrades and optimizations have been made on the game client and our server.
* The “View Details” option that appears when clicked on a member on the alliance member list will not be active for offline players.
* On the unit upgrade panel, even with insufficient resources, it was possible to upgrade the parameters visually by using the plus and minus buttons. This visual error has been fixed.

- Content / Balance -

* Eva Valar’s bonuses related to her relationship with the commander have been re-organized. Eva used to give less commander attribute bonus compared to Yavuzalp at the same relationship level. (For every +5 relationship value, Yavuzalp gives +1 WIS, +1 ASA, +1 TAC and Eva gives +1 ASA, +1 DEF and +1 TAC. Note: After the relationship level exceeds 50, the bonuses start being added at every +5 relationship upgrade. If the relationship level is below 50, your companions starts affecting your commander negatively!)

- The second part of the alliance system; the alliance main building and alliance treasure, is now active. Now, our players will be able to construct main buildings and upgrade them. Each building will start at level 0 and as the alliance members earn honor points (HoP) they will gain levels. As the level of the alliance main building increases, the alliance members will earn more resources per HoP gained from the alliance.

- Alliance treasure is the vault where the bonus resources the alliance members will be earning per HoP gained according to the alliance main building’s level. From the alliance treasure, money and resources will be transferred to the personal vaults of the members and the players will be able to withdraw these resources any time they wish.

- For the time being, the level of the alliance main building will only increase, in other words; it will not be possible to lose levels. However, once the alliance battles are implemented (the third part of the alliance system), alliance buildings (including the main building) will be destructable. Details on this matter will be announced at a later time.

Our open beta server will be down for maintenance today (05-02-2011) between the hours 09:30 and 10:30 (GMT -6 Central America) // 14:30 – 15:30 (GMT +0 London) // 17:30 – 18:30 (GMT+2 Istanbul) // 23:30 – 24:30 (GMT +8 Manila) You can find the change notes below:

May 2 Update – Update Notes

* In game purchases are now active. This includes
- Céi-Lira purchases are now active
- Quickening structure and unit upgrade speeds with Céi-Lira is now active
- The option to purchase resources with Céi-Lira is now active
- The options that allow purchasing Céi-Lira through our official website and transferring Céi-Lira to the commanders that are bound to the account is now active
- Notice: Our Premium membership options are not active yet.

* In main quests and skull hunts, in the case of losing the battle, the current campaign armies of commanders will not be harmed. Thus, playing the single player campaign of the game and gaining ranks will become easier. With this change we are expecting that our players will prepare better for the social platforms and zones where they fight against real players like the Arena and alliance battles, will be able to try new tactics in skull battles and main quests and / or we will be able to prevent our players from getting stuck for too long on difficult quests while ranking up, and thus; our players will be able to reach features that are more exciting in the long run like the arena and alliance battles faster.

Note: The units that are lost in Arena, guild quests and alliance battles will not be restored. In the case of winning the battle in main quests and skull battles, the units that are lost during the battle will also not be restored. Since the players do not use their own troops in Pit battles, this change will not affect Pit battles.

Content Changes / Updates

* The new dialog options below have been added to the advisors;

- Information and suggestions about the region map
- Information and suggestions about the Pit and Arena
- Information about the buildings that can be constructed and the units that can be trained for each rank and suggestions on this matter
- Information and suggestions about honor points
- Information and suggestions about the guilds

Note: You can access some of the new information and dialog options on the dialog screen that your advisor approaches you to help you with various situations. However, the whole of the dialog options will be accessible through visiting your advisor, in other words; through the companions menu.

* Information about the guilds, the Pit, the Arena, honor points and the alliance system has been added to the tips that are displayed on entering battles and on loading screens and the existing information has been updated.
* Although the AP cost of the Firewall special attack of the Purple Scorpion unit was 40, it was displayed as 30 on the interface. This error on the interface texts has been fixed.

Balancing Changes / Updates

* Maximum and minimum army limits have been implemented on all guild quests.

* The AP value of the Venombug has been reduced from 60 to 40. Also, the Venombug will no longer be able to break armor; however, it will completely bypass it (like atrónic attack). The special attack of the Venombug will be changed in the next update. Until the next update, the Venombug unit will not be able to perform its special attack.
* The amount of resources earned from Pit battles has been doubled.
* The required minimum and maximum army intervals to be able to join Arena battles have been reduced. Thus, it will be possible to have Arena battles more often.
* For all the guild quests the chances for an item to drop has been increased for all item categories. (The chances for an item to drop has been increased by approximately 25% – 35%) (Check the notes)
* For Arena battles the chances for an item to drop has been increased for all item categories. (The old chances for an item to drop has been increased by approximately 25% – 35%) (Check the notes)
* Guild quests will now award 2% the amount of the enemy’s army power as honor points (HoP). (Check the notes)
* The amount of honor points gained from Arena battles has been increased. 5% of the enemy army’s army power will now be awarded as honor points (HoP) (the old ratio was 1,3%).

Notes:
- Items of “good” category and “rare” and “set” items are not currently available in the game. Even if items that should belong to these categories are obtained through vendors or quests, they might not be working as intended. Players who have obtained items that belong to these categories may keep using theses items; however, when the relevant developments are carried out, items that belong to these categories will be deleted from the game and added to the game again. Thus, when the relevant update arrives, the said items will be deleted from the inventories of the players who have obtained these items before.

- Honor points also increase when main quests are completed. In main quests, you obtain 1% of the total army power of the enemy army as honor points (HoP).

Technical Changes / Updates

* A link to the “Rankings” web page has been added to the statistics section on the Commander Panel module.
* Various errors that caused loss of connection during battles have been fixed. (Check the notes)
* The entering battle screens have been changed. It will no longer be possible to enter battles automatically once the loading is finished. The player will press the button on the interface to confirm before entering the battle. In Arena battles, the system will not start looking for an opponent before the player confirms it.
* With the change on the entering battle screens, the way the tips and fictional information are displayed also has been changed. While the player is waiting, he/she will now be able to skip to the next tip. Even if the loading is completed, since the players can not enter the battle anymore without confirming it with a button press, they will be able to read as many tips as they want.
* The building icons on the unit training panel have been changed (updated).
* The success rate on the statistics section is now displayed as a percent amount. It used to be displayed as a decimal number.
* The issue that caused a victory artwork to be displayed sometimes even if the player fails a guild quest has been fixed.
* New sounds have been added to the event screen (like the new sound effect that has been added to the event notification that is displayed when an item becomes unusable…)
* The problems that were encountered during the unit training has been fixed. These problems were being encountered when a battalion that could not be trained was attempted to be trained. The system will no longer crash in such cases, it will simply display an error message and warn the player.
* The issue that caused some items to be displayed over the hand of the commander is fixed.
* The return button on the repair and trade modules has been moved to the top left corner.
* The battlefield animations on the Pit battles were missing, these animations have been added to the field.
* The “Start” button on the building construction panel has been made more functional. If there is an ongoing construction, this button informs the player on this matter. The Start buttons used to be active all the time and when pressed it was displaying an error message to the player, telling that the workers were busy. Now, the player will be able to see directly if there is an ongoing construction.
* If an error is encountered while the game is loading, the game will no longer be booted up. The client used to ignore the errors while loading game files and try to finish the loading to boot up the game. This situation was resulting in the game working faultily and numerous errors. Now, the client will no longer allow the game to be booted up before a 100% successful loading is performed.
